A day to remember at Anam Carra Gardens.
Back in September I spent one magical day at the amazing Anam Cara Gardens on the Kapiti Coast at Otaki beach, where I had been invited to take part in a photo-shoot with like minded wedding enthusiasts. The venue was once a Catholic retreat but new owners Tim and Teresa Grigg have revamped it into a beautiful venue. The gardens are extensive but each area has it's own special flavour and there is a surprise around every corner.
I arrived with Trina from Holy Smoke who was providing the Menswear and we were greeted by a room full of industrious people at work on our two lovely models.
Photographer Andie Noon has recently returned from living in the states where she had a thriving business, she is now restarting in New Zealand and has the creative edge to her work that will see her quickly becoming well known. When I met her she was scouting out various locations around the grounds and we hung the newly made "blossom dress" in a blossom tree which made for a gorgeous image.
Both couples were actually real couples so they were perfectly relaxed with each other in front of the camera and seemed to enjoy the make believe wedding photos.
Charlotte from Handmaiden started her business when she moved to the Kapiti coast to raise her family. I loved her collection of vintage china and crystal and the stunning settings she created. My favourite was with a chandelier that hung from a tree above a table laden with vintage crystal and china.
We even had on hand beautiful food from the Sunday Cantina for a picnic scene along with Sadie Swoon the Caravan .
The day finished off perfectly eating up the picnic food and talking over the shoot.
I loved getting to know all these amazing ladies and cant wait for the next one.
