HOLLY + JAMES

We have a little colourful inspiration for our non-traditional brides out there, looking to perhaps wear their favourite colour on their wedding day. Holly walked into our boutique when a beautiful sash in the window caught her eye. After looking around and hearing about the versatility we offer, she decided that if James proposed, she would look for her dress here with us first. When planning their special day, Holly and James didn't have a set theme, but rather thought it important to incorporate details that showed their respective personalities. An alternative wedding dress, Scottish ceilidh, a cricket inspired cake for James, and a Humanist wedding ceremony were all included in their wedding. Now doesn't that just sound like a wedding we wish we were invited to?! They chose Houston House, in Livingston, Edinburgh for their location. When it came to creating Holly's dream dress, she needed a design that would allow her of course to dance to her heart's content without worry of it getting in the way of all the fun! Holly chose a flattering V cross over neckline, with a ruched waistband and A-line style skirt. Choosing the colour for her dress came about when she fell in love with a gorgeous blue while searching through all the beautiful silk samples. The day itself was full of fun and laughter (including two of Holly's best friends running in just seconds before she and her Dad arrived!). Their beautiful and personal humanist wedding ceremony had everyone laughing and crying together, before dancing the night away over a good few whiskeys! Congratulations again Holly and James!
