New Beginnings!

Well it has been a very interesting year for me.

My husband and I decided to make the big move to Auckland and so in August last year when my lease came to and end I shut up shop and began a new journey of selling my clothing and wedding dresses through other shops, Paper Swan Bride in Kelburn and Wallflower in Kapiti.

After 21 years in retail I was looking forward to a change in pace, less responsibility and a new city.

However it seemed that Wellington did not want to let us go and leading up to us leaving we had all sorts of set backs including a builder who was working on a bach up the coast for us losing his business and our deposit on a new build with it.

Paper Swan Bride was a beautiful boutique for us to be selling through but over lunch one day my chief dressmaker and I decided that we missed having our own dedicated space where we could meet with our brides and make their dream dresses become reality.

We decided that we would open up again but this time do it differently, we would use the opportunity of starting over to really think through what we wanted to do and how to do it. Just the two of us, in a gorgeous space that would be both show room and working studio, a place where we could give personal attention to our clients, and that we would love to work in as much as they would love to visit us in.

And not only for wedding dresses and off the rack clothes, but also bespoke and made to measure garments for any occasion and a high quality alteration service for any clothing, where our customers will know that they are in safe hands.

Once the decision was made, everything fell into place. I found a beautiful space upstairs on Cuba Street with amazing creative landlords right below me in Lazule Jewellery.

The space was already amazing and it just needed little tweaks to make it our own.
